Six Year Old Photo Session - Spring Session - Wildflowers - Worcester, Massachusetts Area Photographer

Six was tough on me. It feels the same as when your newborn baby turns one month old and you notice they forgot how to curl up like they did in the womb. Their feet no longer curve to their body. Their legs are stretched out as far as they can go... growing...growing...growing... and not stopping anytime soon. It was as hard as the day you noticed the bubbles on their toes are gone from months of walking. It was as hard as the first time she was left with her grandparents...wondering if she thought we abandoned her. It was that hard.

Well, it happened. She's six now. There's no turning back. I remember sitting in the hospital bed. My family and closest friends surrounding us. My husband leaning over me and gazing down at her. I lost it when he whispered to her "Thanks for making me Dad." She was such a beautiful newborn. She had the biggest green eyes that were so alert and so curious. She found her thumb and nursed it. Since that day she has taken on the world by storm.

You know that expression, "She lights up the room." well, she really does. Everywhere we go someone is excited to see her! She's a good friend with a beautiful soul. She cares about all lives. She is cautious but brave. She is adventurous but sticks close to home. She's shy but opens up quickly and has a lot to say. She's reluctant to try new things, but tends to be good at most things. And when she's not, she gives it her all. She may shed a tear or two but she works hard and celebrates her accomplishments.

She loves a good adventure. Hiking is her favorite past-time. She wishes it was a sport you play at school. It's pretty cool to watch your child who looks just like her Daddy morph into a little you when it comes to personality. I'm so thankful her passions mirror mine. I can relate to her and build a strong relationship that way.

She has written books. So many books. Beautiful books with story lines and characters with feelings and traits. She's an amazing reader with the thirst to collect as many books and read as many books as she can. She doesn't care if it's beyond her level. She'll try it. Fearless.

There are so many things I love about her. Like the noise she makes when she's mad. It's a cross between a happy goose and an angry mother hen. It's a quick noise that makes us laugh and turns her mood around.

I'm proud of our girl. I pinch myself often wondering if I'm in a dream. Nope. This is real life.

All of us as parents are madly in love with beautiful beings, whom we made or were given. We get to take care of them and bless them with all of what life has to offer and watch them grow and experience amazing things. We are so lucky, aren't we?

One Year Cake Smash - Mickey Mouse Theme

So, Joshua is a very special boy to me. <3 I have been photographing him since he was born! Before he was even thought of, I photographed his big brother since he was just three years old and his big sister was just a teeny tiny little baby!

Believe it or not, he's actually one of the reasons I started this business! Not only was he one of the last sessions I had at the studio I previously worked at, but he was also one of the first I photographed under my new business during my first month after launching!

His mum had contacted me and had asked if I'd still take pictures for her even though I no longer was working in the field. I never expected for clients to reach out to me. Although, after Josh's mom did, I understood since I've been working with them for so long.

Of course I couldn't say no! I didn't want to miss out on photographing one of my favorite clients on such a special day. Clients, of course, quickly become friends when you get the opportunity to celebrate their children and every milestone they reach. I love getting the chance to watch them become beautiful little people...<3. I undeniably grow very attached.

I kept getting messages like this again and again from clients who noticed I was no longer affiliated. It was a tad overwhelming at the time because I had hit a low point that I was trying to get out of. It was so uplifting to read kind words and have clients search for me to make sure everything was ok. It really validated how special this job was and how not only did I care about them, but they care about me as well. It didn't take me long to realize, that photography makes me happy. I in no way do this for the money. I do it for myself to nurse my creative side. I love creating beautiful images of beautiful people and sharing them with others who might enjoy it too. I follow other artists who I idolize and whom also inspire me.

So I sat my husband down one day and I had a serious conversation about it. It didn't take much convincing. He believes in me more than anyone else and we decided that it was a good idea to pursue this new dream. <3In his own words, "Whatever makes you happy."

Josh will never know the huge role he had played in where I am today. (Although, his mom might share the story about the time he took a digger after his Christmas photos which resulted in an egg on his sweet little head.) <3At least it was after his session and we even NAILED a photo with all three kids smiling so perfectly! <3

So, Josh came to visit me to celebrate his first birthday. He wasn't as happy to see me as I was to see him though. He was not feeling his best and took his cake smash very seriously. But he was by far one of the cutest little grumpy boys ever. <3

One Year Cake Smash - Pink and Gold Theme

I just adore this family. I had the honor of shooting Miss Kendyll's auntie's wedding where I was able to meet everyone they love. It was such a blast and it really encompassed the true meaning of family. I live in a small town where farming of all kinds is prevalent and when I first moved here, I just remember how sweet the P family was to me every time I'd stop in to stock up on fruit and vegetables. I have really enjoyed getting to watch their family grow over the years.

She has the most beautiful eyes. <3

She has the most beautiful eyes. <3

When I first started out professionally, I had the opportunity to work with Kendyll's family except Kendyll wasn't even thought of then! Her big brother was just born and I was learning and practicing how to pose newborns safely. It was one of my first newborn sessions. I remember it so vividly because it was one of my first experiences with newborn photography.

Now Miss Ken is ONE and I'm so happy I've been given the opportunity to watch everyone grow and the family get bigger. She was THE MOST beautiful newborn with her sweet little face and long dark hair! She had so much hair! She was so fussy that day! She just wanted her Momma to hold her and rock her.

When she came in to see me this weekend, she was so laid back and sweet. She went with the flow and barely made a fuss. She was so cute with her cake. Her brothers dove right in, but Kendyll was a little more dainty about it. ;) I loved spending time with her and her Mum. Thank you for spending your morning with me! <3

Girls Day! <3

It was a beautiful day and I was lucky enough to have some friends over! They brought their girls and I had my girls...making it a grand total of 7 girls!

My poor husband was hardly seen as he had hid all day. I can't blame him. ;)

It was so nice spending the day with these ladies. Before they left I had to snap a few. <3 I wish they'd stop growing though...I remember when they were born. Kenz was our miracle girl who couldn't wait to take over our hearts and came early weighing in at just over a pound at 1lb 2oz. Now she's running, jumping, climbing, and rolling around like she owns this world. (I wouldn't be surprised if she actually did one day...) While Hannah was born the day after my Audrey was born. Her mom and I talked every day as we waited impatiently to meet them. We met as bridesmaids in a wedding. We had to try on dresses and we both had JUST found out we were pregnant. We were trying to figure out what sizes to get not knowing how big we would be 9 months later. I was due almost two weeks after her but I ended up having Audrey on Hannah's actual due date. I'm so grateful to have had these girls during that time in my life.

Hannah wasn't having her pictures, but we did manage to get one that has been a fan favorite over on our Facebook page. I decided to mix it up a bit and convert it to B&W. I can't decide which one I like more now... <3

Not only was the weather beautiful...but so was my company. I'm so happy they made the trip out. It was a last minute plan...the best kind! <3
