Fall Mini Sessions - Dandelion Wild Photography - Central MA Family Photographer

Fall is here! But with all the crazy weather, I think the leaves are hesitant to change. So much green and usually this weekend and next are the BEST weekends for those rich fall foliage colors. Once upon a time, we would hit the end of October, trees were just about bare, and only the evergreens were still standing proud.

It was a rainy day at first. Our soccer game was cancelled and I wasn’t sure what would become of this session. The weather man promised the rain would let up, but you can never be too sure. We watched the weather and when the time came, we decided to go for it. The sun had finally awoken and started to dry the sopping wet earth.

This family drove about an hour to come see me in my little farm town. Unbeknownst to me, it’s pheasant season and my hidden gem of a location was loaded with hunters and their dogs. They were all very sweet and understanding and moved deeper into the meadow to allow us plenty of space to spend some time together capturing their family.

For some reason, the dogs ditched their hunters and decided they’d rather hang out with us. Eventually they gave in and returned to their masters. Back to work (or play???) they went.

I wish I had the hair that these girls have. Long, silky, tendrils with natural highlights. I pay big bucks for that hair and it grows effortlessly from their sweet little heads. I truly believe that our children get all the best of us.

These girls worked hard. Their parents are so patient and loving. There wasn’t a shortage of hugs and kisses that evening, that’s for sure.

Sometimes I think children get overwhelmed. I’m someone they see once in awhile, and each time I have a camera in my face and theirs. It’s a new kind of expectation, almost a performance, that they have to take part in, and sometimes that causes children to be unsure or cautious.

Never worry! That’s your baby. 10 years from now, those things that mattered won’t. And all that will are those big bright eyes looking back at you at 3 years old. A year flies…. Having photographs to look back on, capturing a fleeting moment within a single year is priceless and the best gift you can give yourself as a parent. In my honest and humble opinion.

Fall family sessions are in full swing and I started it off with this gorgeous family right here.

Thank you for coming out to see me. I loved my time spent with you!

Newborn Session - Central MA Newborn Photographer - Newbory Baby Girl - Dandelion Wild Photography

This little princess came in and totally rocked her session. She was super sleepy and we were able to get everything Mom and Dad requested and then some. Her little Minnie outfit didn’t quite fit, but hopefully next time when I see them it will!

I had just seen Mom and Dad a few weeks prior to their baby being born for their maternity session. You can take a peek at that by scrolling down below. They were so sweet and the anticipation of meeting this sweet girl was growing strong at the time. Moms and Dads to be are always so full of hope and wonder. It’s such an amazing time because you just want to meet your little babe. Lay eyes on that precious little face. And get to know the being you created.

Now that she’s here, it’s almost like she’s always been here. Mum and Dad were already pros and as you can see, baby Quinn is quite happy with life earthside.

Everything about Quinn was so teeny tiny and perfect. She loved to be rocked and constantly moving. When she slept, she slept. When she was awake, she was wide awake.

I can’t wait to see this little babe again! Quinn is on her way towards completing our Baby Plan. Get ready for lots of cuteness over the next year!

Dandelion Wild Photography - Newborn Session - Baby Girl - Central Massachusetts Newborn Photographer

The most beautiful newborn baby girl came into my studio. She was so sweet and flew right through her session. She snacked while mom, dad, and I talked. I got to get in lots of little newborn snuggles and admire all her perfect little features. Thankfully she signed up for my baby plan and I get to see this little sugar grow up over the next year.

Welcome to the world, Olivia. Happy Birthday!

Spring Mini Sessions

SPRING MINIS 2018.jpg

Ya... I couldn't wait anymore so I decided to just throw it out there.

Spring Minis are now being booked! This is a great time to get your family photo updated! You can coordinate outfits to the spring wildflowers which is way more flexible than fall or winter time outfit selections. The weather will be bearable and the days will start to grow longer. This is my preferred time to get my own family photos done because it's so lush and green, the dandelions are plentiful, and everyone is on a high from all the vitamin D they've been lacking all winter. The weather is slightly unpredictable but this also allows you to be more relaxed when it comes to outfit styles. Whether you prefer sundresses or sweaters, whatever your taste, the weather should be bearable just long enough for any style. I love the colors of fall, don't get me wrong, but with my family photos I want my eye to be drawn to the subjects, my family, and only my family and not the environment around them.

What to Expect:

Sessions will be held throughout the month of May.

Discount only applies to mini sessions scheduled during the month of May.

Sessions will take place one hour and a half before sunset.

Sessions will be limited to one family per evening. I do not have every single evening available so of course...sessions will be limited.

The session time can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the family. Here's what I mean by this: Every family is different....duh. But in all seriousness...let's throw it all out there and take my family and my friend's family as examples.

My husband is very social and personable. I'm not. I'm just not. I'm shy, I'm introverted, and I internalize everything that's going on around me. While I'm doing that...I don't contribute to conversations much because I'm analyzing and thinking about everything everyone is saying so by the time I even come up with something to say...the conversation has moved on to something else. I also have sensory processing issues which makes me over sensitive to touch. (I'm not being over dramatic. I'm very in touch with myself because as an introvert, I spend a lot of time at home...thinking...and then over thinking...and in between all that thinking, I legit figured myself out and how to deal with it all.) Why did I just share this with all of you? Because about two weeks before our family photo session...I legit, day to day, gradually start to panic. I lose sleep. I stay home a lot more because the thought of this session is so draining I don't have enough energy to do much else until the damn thing is OVER! So, one of my girls is like my husband, the other is just. like. me. We would DEFINITELY need an entire hour, if not more, just because half of us are awkward and dying inside as well as over stimulated and the other half is way too happy to just be alive! Imagine that hot mess. Yep. My family photographer is legit the best and her images are the only other ones that are allowed to bless my walls. Just saying. <3 As a photographer...I take all the photos in the house. My husband doesn't have any social media accounts so he's NEVER on his phone so the last thought he has is to take his out and take photos. I love him for that..but I want my kids to see us as we were all their lives. I want them to have albums and albums on top of albums to share with their kids, their grandkids, and great grandkids. I want them to tell stories and share places to visit so that they can go there too and make memories to document.

I could go on and on.

So...I get it. I totally get it. There are people out there that are totally as neurotic as we are so my little feels go out to those who happen to be blessed with such a....talent? lol

My girlfriend and her family, on the other hand, they are so put together. They look like they stepped out of a magazine. Their family has a deep emotional connection that is visible in their body language. (All families have an emotional connection...but not all express that so easily or so organically as they do...all the time. And that's ok!) Her children are just so laid back and go with the flow that sessions just come natural to them. They legit could stand there in a field and simply interact with each other and have an entire session documented in 30 minutes flat. That's not us. That's not most of us. And that's also totally ok.

There are so many combinations of family. It's hard to just limit every individual family to just black and white. Especially when we live in a world full of color.

Our time is valuable. If it wasn't, you wouldn't be thinking about investing in photos. Time capsules. Little pixels that freeze your most important people in your life...for eternity. You wouldn't be working so hard so that you could have the extra time and funds to ensure that it happens. I get that. And I value that too.

I want you and your family to have the best experience possible and I want your session to be how you envisioned it would be but better.

It's ok if your family is the way it is. That's exactly what we want to capture. So bring them to me. Bring it all to me! All the laughs, the fears, the love, and maybe even some tears. Just bring it all with you when you come. Your images aren't going to be everyone sitting perfectly posed and smiling. They're just not. I always get a few for families...but it's all about documenting those little wrist rolls before they disappear. That wild sun kissed blond hair in the middle of summer, before it fades to brown. How your boy was once much smaller than you and looked up to you adoringly...you know...all those delightful little things you never want to forget.

Your session will include 10 digital images with the opportunity to purchase more. Your images will be delivered to you through an online gallery. Your gallery will have a unique link and password which you can share with friends and family.  It will also come with a 10% discount code, good for two weeks, to purchase professional grade prints and products through that gallery. This code can also be shared with friends and family who might want to make a purchase, especially those who might live farther away. Items will be shipped straight to them!

Sessions are held at various locations throughout central MA and suggestions are always considered.

Feel free to reach out if you would like to book yours this May.

Questions will be answered and more information will be provided.

Dandelion Wild Photography 2017 Highlights - Happy New Year - Central MA Photographer - Massachusetts Photographer

2017 Collage.JPG

2017 was an incredible year! We were finally able to pay off all of our credit card debt from building our house and we were able to complete the studio which took much longer than we had originally planned. But it's done and I can finally snuggle all the newborns and babies!

We escaped to Florida to explore Disney World for our family vacation! We welcomed our very first nephew into the world. I decided to go back to school to complete my master's degree. My in-laws moved in for over a month and then found their dream home in Florida. Jeff and Lauren came home from California to visit and stayed with us. I turned 30. We booked another trip out to California to visit them. I worked my butt off between juggling family, going back to school, my two jobs, and my children's busy schedules.

Although 2018 will force me to limit the number of sessions I'll be able to schedule, I look forward to all the craziness it's about to bring.

2017 was my year of accomplishments and achievements. This 2018, I'm not going to make any resolutions but I do plan on making it my year of health. Now that the girls are bigger and are ready for adventure we have made a list of hiking trails we would like to conquer. So our goal is to take them all on before the end.

I hope your 2017 brought you lots of love, health, and that feeling of getting things done. We all work so hard to provide for our families and ourselves that it's important to take the time to enjoy what little free time we do have.

Lots of things on our agenda already for this coming year, I'm excited, but I'm going to slow it down a bit, take in each day, and hopefully take lots of pictures! <3

Of all the wonderful things 2018 could bring, I really hope one of those things is you!

Happy New Year!

First Birthday Cake Smash - Central Massachusetts Family Photographer - Amelia - Funfetti Themed Smash Cake

How has it been a year since this little girl has been born!? This passed year has flown by. August 2017 marks 18 months in business. One and a half years! :)

These girls belong to my college roommate. It still blows my mind how life develops over the years. Most of my favorite college memories include these girls' mumma and most are surely unforgettable!

Amelia is a sweet little babe who brought her big sister McKenzie and her mum and dad in with her to see me. Her big sister is one of my favorite people on this earth. She is a little miracle who is vivacious, fun, adorable, and hilarious! I could seriously hang out with her all day and laugh and laugh with her as she just dances through life.

Amelia has grown so much. Her personality really shined which was special because I haven't seen her in about six months! She was so sweet and quiet and just took in her surroundings and went with the flow. She is the perfect little sister to Kenzie for sure. They compliment each other so well.

Amelia is technically a rainbow baby which made her smash session suit her perfectly. Her big sister Morghan is watching over her sisters everyday. McKenzie and Morghan are twin sisters whom were born at 24 weeks gestation at 1lb 2oz and 1lb 7oz. Unfortunately, due to the high stress and risks that are placed on the shoulders of these fragile miracle babies, Morghan passed away. Kenzie, even being the smaller of the two, thrived and is now a vibrant little chickita we know and love today.

These girls hold a special place in my heart...the whole family. I wish we lived closer so I could see them much more often than I do!

Happy First Birthday, Amelia! <3

Mother's Day Mini Sessions

Mother's Day Mini Sessions will soon be in full swing! This year, Mother's Day Minis are all about family. That's what mom's love most right? So, these sessions are not limited to moms and their children; it's for mommas who want an updated family photo, a few of just her kids, a few of herself with her kids, and maybe a few of herself with the man that helped her start it all! Or maybe helped her rebuild it all, whatever dynamic your family may bring. Even bring old Fido along for the fun! Everyone knows I love my furbabies!

Whatever it is that momma wants, momma is getting! (In regards to her Mother's Day family photos anyway!) :)

Mother's Day is so special. We work so hard to make sure everyone and everything is taken care of, we deserve at least one day to be recognized for that. <3 My girls are so sweet, they want nothing more than for me to be happy at every waking second of every single day. I don't know about you, but that's just not possible for me. I'm not the happiest person when I get up in the morning...so my girls kindly wake me up with big smiles and shower me with lots of hugs and kisses before they ask me to make them breakfast...immediately...before their stomachs eat themselves.

On Mother's Day...it's like that times infinity. They want to be a part of everything that day. From the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed. They attempt to make me breakfast, draw me beautiful pictures, pass me sweet notes, try to help me around the house, etc. Tremendous effort is evident. These girls are my world and on Mother's Day, they remind me that I'm theirs too.

These times are so fleeting. I wish they would just slow down. But they won't. And there's nothing we can do to even make a dent in the speed in which time travels.

The closest we can get to freezing time...is allowing someone to take that photo. <3

Allow me. <3

Christmas Tree Farm Mini Session - Massachusetts Photographer - Family Photography MA - Holiday

Often times I get requests to show more of a certain session. I don't like to share too many images from a session because I want it to be a surprise for the family receiving them. Often times, I'm too busy to go back to a session to post more. But since I have a little extra time on my hands, here's a little more from one of the Christmas Tree Farm sessions I offered this year.

I can't even tell you how many times these kids told each other and their parents that they loved them, because I lost count. They were oh so sweet and very well behaved. We ran through the Christmas Tree Farm on that chilly afternoon. Up and down the rows of trees. It was beautiful and this family just added the warmth.

That little peanut in the middle came earlier this year to celebrate her first birthday! I can't believe how big she has gotten. She is so lucky to have such loving big brothers!

I gotta share last year's Christmas photo with this years...

She is certainly one very loved little girl. And big brother sure has a very determined way of showing his love for her. <3

And one more of the gorgeous Pollard family. Love this crew!
